Waffles, ruffles, and a ponder on the stairs

Hello!
I have a few cute stories to share with you!
My little pixies keep me going around here.
Kately lately is in the idea that she shouldn't have to get dressed in the mornings.  This causes some distress in the family, but we are working on it.  I tell her every morning that it is too cold in our basement to go around without clothes on.  After much persuasion, Kately decided that she did want to eat breakfast, since we were making waffles, and that wearing clothes was a good trade for waffles.  But, Kately couldn't just wear the green outfit that she originally picked out, no she wanted to be like her sister and wear a "dressy" shirt.  So they are both wearing ruffly dressy shirts and pants.  Wahoo we look cute today and we're dressed!

This was try one of showing the dressy shirts - Emberly is flying off the stool!

Here is try 2.  Of course, in this one you can't see Kately's ruffles because she decided that her milk, her dolly, the marker, her water and her bag all had to be in the picture :)

Here we are making waffles.  I have gotten on a kick of freezing things to help save time, like meals and other food.  So I thought I would make waffles and freeze them.  I found a recipe that said it was supposed to taste like Eggos (here is the recipe).  I was a little over ambitious and thought that I would tripple the recipe and freeze a bunch of them, of course, I didn't think about the fact that I only have one waffle iron.  It kind of took a while, but now I have 24 waffles frozen for later!

Good thing I didn't put an after shot, there was waffle batter everywhere!
(but her is a better picture of her ruffles!)

The other day Kately was playing in the living room and I was on my computer.  I heard her saying over and over again, "Heavenly Father, Heavenly Father..."  She had her favorite dolly in her arms and was praying.  When she saw that I was looking at her she ran away.  It was sweet to know that somethings sink in, even though we're not always sure.  What a sweet heart!  (Oh how I wish I had a picture!)

Saturday night Chris was called into work at 7pm.  That left Mommy and the pixies at Grandma Dew's house all night long!  While we were there I was given an experience that made me ponder on the stairs.  Kate and I were headed down the stairs and my parents have a chair lift that used to take my grandparents up and down the stairs when they lived there.  Kate uses this chair rail as a hand rail to hold on to and help her down the stairs.  She, of course, being 2 years old, doesn't go down the stairs terribly fast.  I went to hold her hand and help her go faster.  As I did this I had the thought that this is kind of like what Heavenly Father does.  He holds our hands and helps us on our way.  By holding my hand Kate was able to go down the stairs quicker and steadier.  And by holding Heavenly Father's "hand" we can go through life steadier.  Kate originally reached out to what she had in the world to help her, but then I came along.  Isn't that what we do?  When life gets hard we reach out for worldly things to help us, steady us along the way.  But it is not until the Lord is invited into our lives that we really make progress.  By having the Lord in our lives it doesn't mean that hard times won't come, but that we will be better prepared to meet with them.  Kate has fallen when I've held her hand, but it made the blow easier to handle.  Either I helped her to not hit the ground as hard, or I was right there to comfort her as it happened.
The Lord is there for us always!  This little experience was nice to ponder on and really made me think that I should turn to the Lord more.  Always!  Not just in time of need.

Well, thanks for reading and God bless you!
